Health & Fitness Apprentice

Health & Fitness apprentices will gain hands-on industry experience from one of the area’s leading leisure and fitness providers. As well as learning from our experienced team, apprentices will gain industry-recognised qualifications and take their first steps towards a bright and promising future in the leisure sector.

  • Venue: Multiple
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Salary: £124.50 per week
  • Closing Date: October 19, 2020
  • Closing Time: 12:00 pm

At Tees Active, we have been supporting young people to take their first steps into the exciting world of leisure. Our apprentices are given an opportunity to work with experienced and highly skilled professionals who can guide and mentor them to make the most out of their time with us. A high number of our apprentices go on to secure employment with us once their apprenticeship has finished, which highlights our commitment to nurturing talented young people at the beginning of their journey.

Coach Core Background

Coach Core’s vision is to drive social mobility through apprenticeships and sport, so that every young person can reach their true potential and inspire those around them. Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people. We are now looking to relaunch in October 2020.

About Coach Core

Coach Core Middlesbrough is one of 14 programmes across the UK. In each Coach Core location, employers and other partners work together to provide a unique and exciting range of events and opportunities for all young people.

Successful applicants will be based full time with one employer (for between 15-18 months), but will also be able to access a range of additional qualifications and events not seen on any other apprenticeship programme. Employers are specifically chosen based on their passion and willingness to support young people.

Leisure

The leisure industry will open up a variety of opportunities to progress your career. Many high level managers started their career working as a lifeguard or leisure assistant.

  • Gain the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

  • Level 2 Community Activator Coach qualification

  • Hands on experience working in an established leisure environment

  • Online training opportunities

  • Continual assessment and feedback to support development from our management teams

  • Weekly coaching experience

  • Gain industry knowledge from our experienced teams

Health & Fitness

If you’re passionate about health and fitness and have the right attitude and desire to motivate and help others to keep active, this could be the perfect career for you.

  • NVQ Level 2 Qualification in Health and Fitness

  • Level 2 Community Activator Coach qualification

  • Hands on experience working in an established fitness environment

  • Online training opportunities

  • Continual assessment and feedback to support development from our management teams

  • Weekly coaching experience

  • Gain industry knowledge from our experienced teams
