Swimming
Stockton-on-Tees is home to 4 swimming pools, each offering a variety of sessions to suit every age and ability. Swimming is the perfect activity if you’re looking to have fun with friends and family, learn a valuable life skill, improve your fitness or mobility, or simply find a new way to relax and unwind. We also have sauna and steam facilities at Billingham Forum and IB Leisure.
Family fun
Our popular family sessions have been keeping the kids entertained since they we old enough to make their first splashes. We have everything from fun flumes, wave machines and aqua gliders to giant inflatables, floats and toddler areas, everything you need to create a low-cost, memorable day out with the family.
Adults
Many of our regular swimmers hold an Activ8 Health and Fitness membership as this offers unlimited free swimming across all of our pools. Our pools provide a variety of sessions to ensure swimming can fit conveniently into your busy routine. Come along to one of our early bird, lunchtime or adult only sessions to get those lengths in, or visit in a general public session for a more leisurely swim. Our lane swimming sessions are also perfect for anyone who swims competitively or is training for a triathlon. Whatever your reason, swimming provides unrivalled benefits to improve your mental and physical wellbeing, and there’s so much choice right on your doorstep. Read more about our adult sessions.
We also offer a popular adult swimming scheme that helps adults to learn a new skill in a friendly and social environment. It’s never too late to learn something new! Visit the adult swimming section to find our more information.
Children’s swimming lessons
We offer an established learn to swim scheme and teach over 2,000 children to swim each week across our pools. For years, we have been helping children to make their first splashes and supporting their journey right through to competitive swimming in lots of cases. Our learn to swim scheme is proudly supported by our swimming ambassador, Commonwealth Gold medalist, Aimee Willmott. Together with Aimee, we are committed to inspiring the next generation of swimmers and ensuring everyone has access to enjoy swimming at a local pool.
