IB Leisure is the new home of health and fitness in Ingleby Barwick, bringing you more value and choice than any fitness provider in the area. Boasting 2 swimming pools, a modern gym and 3 purpose built fitness class studios, you’ll find everything you need and more to kickstart your fitness journey.
At the centre of the bright and welcoming atrium are the 18m and 25m swimming pools, which support an extensive learn to swim and school swimming programme, as well as a variety of sessions including, lane swimming, aqua classes and early bird sessions. The centre is also home to a library and community hub, as well as an exciting soft play adventure and sauna and steam facilities.
IB Leisure is the newest addition to the borough’s generous leisure provision and reinforces the partnership and commitment of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and Tees Active to providing fantastic and inspiring ways to help local residents lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

An Activ8 membership gives you more value and choice than any other fitness provider in the area. We offer the same industry leading equipment and state-of-the-art fitness facilities as any private operator, but without the large price tag.
You can access each of our Activ8 gyms, swimming pools and fitness classes at our clubs located in Billingham Forum, Stockton Splash, Thornaby Pavilion, Thornaby Pool and IB Leisure.
We are proud to offer the biggest selection of fitness classes in the area from the biggest brands around the globe, 4 modern gyms housing an extensive range of cardio, functional and strength equipment and 4 swimming pools offering a variety of sessions and aqua classes.

Joining online is the most popular option as you can do this from the comfort of your own home. You will need to register for a free account on the Tees Active platform, you can then go on to choose your membership, manage payments and book all your activities.
When you join online you will be required to book an induction at a time that suits you. At this appointment we will run through the equipment to make sure you can make the most of your training in the safest possible way. We will also create a tailored fitness plan so you can work towards your goals – we will sit with you to review this throughout your membership. You can also join in any Activ8 venue, simply pop along to reception and we will talk you through the process.

The safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority and we have put an extensive range of protective measures in place. This includes, an increased cleaning regime, installing cleaning and sanitising stations across the venue, displaying social distancing signage and the closure of all non-essential areas.
We have adopted a phased approach to re-opening across the organisation to ensure that we can control the flow of customers and we will be monitoring and reviewing this as we work towards bringing back more services.

Tees Active have formed an exciting partnership with Water Babies Tees Valley to further develop the swimming programme at Tees Active.
On Friday 21st August the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak, along with local MP Matt Vickers, visited the new IB Leisure facility at Ingleby Barwick.
Tees Active opened its latest venue on Monday 10th August, a brand new leisure centre in the heart of Ingleby Barwick – IB Leisure!
On Saturday 25th July we were finally able to open the doors of our leisure centres and welcome you all with, socially distanced, open arms and we couldn’t be happier!

Stockton’s leisure centres have donated over £1000 worth of confectionery from their cafés and vending machines to support frontline staff at The University Hospital of North Tees and James Cook University Hospital.
