Adult Swimming

We’ve made some important changes since reopening our swimming pools, please make sure you visit the welcome back page before visiting our venues. Swimming is one of the most popular activities for adults to enjoy. Not only is it accessible and affordable, it is also one of the greatest ways to improve your overall health and fitness. Some of us have a lifelong passion for swimming from an early age, whilst others can often discover our thirst later in life due to the breadth of health benefits associated with regular swimming. Whatever the reason, Stockton-on-Tees is home to 4 swimming pools offering a variety of adult focused sessions and a popular adult swimming lessons to keep you happy, active and feeling revitalised.

Sauna & Steam

Following your swim you can also make use of the sauna and steam facilities located within Billingham Forum and IB Leisure (Activ8 members only).

Popular Adult Sessions

We have lots of sessions that are naturally more suited to adults. Choose your session then use the filter options on the timetable below to find sessions at your chosen pool.

Ladies Only

This session is for ladies wanting to swim lengths for fitness or to simply relax. Younger swimmers (aged 12+) may access these sessions (when accompanied by an adult) with prior approval form the centre team.

Early Bird

The early bird catches the worm! Clear your headspace and start your morning with a refreshing swim to tackle whatever the day throws at you.

Lunchtime Swim

Keep fit during your lunch hour, with the added incentive of a reduced price. Lanes are usually available at this session.

Lane Swimming

Lane swimming is the perfect way to improve fitness. Our lane sessions also offer a range of swimming aids for you to use to help you get the most out of your aquatic workout.

As an Activ8 member I swim 3 times a week and attend Aquafit, all for less than 70p a day!
