Tees Active is a leading charitable trust, dedicated to raising the physical and mental wellbeing of communities in Stockton-on-Tees. We are passionate about the power of physical activity and believe that everyone should have equal opportunities to enjoy the abundance of health benefits associated with leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

As a not-for-profit social enterprise, we reinvest every penny back into our services to provide a supportive, successful and sustainable service for future generations, and it is our vision for everyone to be educated and empowered to pursue an active lifestyle.

Our Social Impact

430 Health Sessions

Last year, we worked with the NHS to deliver 430 health sessions across our venues including Cardiac Rehabilitation services and Blood Donors.

2000+ Weight Management and Health Scheme referrals

2,000+ individuals were referred to Tees Active's weight management and health scheme to support them to lead a healthier, happier and more active life.

13% reduction in carbon emissions

In 2022/23, we reduced our carbon emissions by 13% across all of our venues.

20,496 Free Swims

In 2022/23, over 20,000 children under 3 enjoyed free access to our swimming pools.

3.5 Tonnes

In 2022/23, 3.5 tonnes of recyclable material was collected from our venues.

£1,238,855M Into Local Ecomomy

Tees Active supports the local economy spending £1,238,855 with local companies.

Tees Active Awarded for Efforts to make Teesside Pools Easier to Access

A CHARITABLE leisure trust has been awarded a national accreditation for enabling people with long-term health conditions to access four swimming pools on Teesside. Tees Active, which manages leisure venues and activities in partnership with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, has become the latest organisation to achieve Swim England’s ‘Water Wellbeing’ standard.

Christmas Ice Party Celebrates Stockton HAF 2024

Over 200 children, parents and carers attended the Christmas HAF Celebration party at Billingham Forum Ice Arena. The party goers had exclusive use of the Ice rink and special guests Snow White, Elsa, Captain America and Spiderman joined in the fun to keep everybody entertained whilst being mobbed by children for selfies and photos.

Showcase for Physical and Mental Wellbeing

Thornaby Pavilion played host to the second annual Stockton on Tees Health and Wellbeing Festival. The festival enabled visitors to gather information on health support, volunteering opportunities, creative activities, wellbeing services, social groups and opportunities to stay active. Over 70 organisations attended the festival to provide valuable advice to the public on a large variety of topics.

Slip Sliding Away

Stockton school children were definitely put in the festive mood when 240 primary school pupils from 10 schools attended the Stockton Festival of Ice at Billingham Forum Ice Arena. Pupils from St Joseph’s Billingham, Norton Primary School, Harewood Primary Schools St Bedes, St Marks’s, St Gregorys, Roseberry Primary School, Oakdene Primary School, Bewley Primary School and St Joseph’s Norton had exclusive use of the ice, so they were able to tackle the ice and improve their skating skills.
