Are you seeking a career change or a fresh start in the leisure industry, but lack a valid Pool Lifeguard or Learn to Swim Qualification, we have an opportunity for you.

Upon successfully completing our recruitment process and accepting the job offer, you will have the opportunity to undertake one of the below fully funded training courses.

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

To become a pool lifeguard you must first complete your NPLQ, a course which is broken into three sections:
1: The Lifeguard and the Law, Swimming Pool Supervision | 2: Intervention and Rescue and Emergency Action Plans | 3: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, AED and First Aid

Candidates who attend an NPLQ course must meet the following entry criteria:

Aged 16 years+

Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds

Tread water for 30 seconds

Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water

Surface dive to the floor of the pool

Climb out unaided without ladder/step

Being a swimming teacher and studying for A Levels are incredibly complementary. I was earning considerably more than my other friends whilst working less hours…

Swimming Teacher

To become a swimming teacher there are two qualifications to gain:

Level 1 | Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) course which is the first step and it allows you to support a Level 2 Swimming Teacher to coach sessions.
Level 2 | Swim England Level 2 Teaching course which will enable you to lead on delivery of the Learn to Swim and/or School Swimming sessions.

Minimum of 30 hours shadowing time is required in between courses.

Guided Hours (Level 1)

18hrs per week - Evenings and Weekends

Guided Hours (Level 2)

34hrs - Evenings and Weekends
