Swimming Sessions

We offer a range of swimming sessions at Thornaby Pool. Whether you want to come and have a fun splash about with family or relax and have a quiet swim to keep fit we have sessions for all ages and abilities.
Public Session
These sessions are open to all. All children under 8 years of age must be accompanied in the water at all times by an adult aged 16+ (max. 2 children per adult).

Fun Floats
A fun packed session with floats. An exciting experience for children of all ages.
Early Bird Swim
Start the day with an enjoyable morning swim and get the benefit of a reduced rate. Adults and juniors both welcome.
Lunch Time Swim
Keep fit during your lunch hour, with the added incentive of a reduced price.
Adults Only
For swimmers aged 16 years + who wish to swim lengths. Lanes where possible will be available for swimmers.
Ladies Only
These sessions are for ladies aged 16 years and over, who either want a serious swim or simply to relax with friends. Please note on Fridays females aged 12yrs+ can enjoy a Ladies Only Session if they are accompanied by a parent/carer.
Parent & Toddler
An ideal session for those wishing to spend quality time with their child.
Parties
Why don’t you book your next party at our pool and be the coolest kid in town! Various options available – please see our Party leaflet or contact reception for more information.
Private Hire
These sessions are reserved for clubs. If you are interested in booking our pool for private hire, please contact reception.
Swimming Lessons
If you would like to learn to swim then there’s no better place to start! Our lessons follow the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) which is an inclusive programme taking the non swimmer on their own individual aquatic journey. Click here to view the Learn to Swim page
School Sessions
For safeguarding reasons public are not permitted to swim during this time. If you are interested in booking our pool including a swimming teacher for your school, please contact reception.
C.H.I.L.D
An adventure session aimed at supporting and guiding the whole family of a child with special needs. For more information contact Sue Aston on (01642) 888379. This session will be closed to the general public and takes place the last Sunday of every month.
