Showcase for Physical and Mental Wellbeing
Thornaby Pavilion played host to the second annual Stockton on Tees Health and Wellbeing Festival. The festival enabled visitors to gather information on health support, volunteering opportunities, creative activities, wellbeing services, social groups and opportunities to stay active. Over 70 organisations attended the festival to provide valuable advice to the public on a large variety of topics.
To keep everybody entertained and in a festive mood there was performances by the Globes Community Choir, ARCelele and people were invited to participate in several lively workshops, which included Green Dragon Combat, displaying their medieval sword skills and Knockout Depression gave the opportunity of people to receive the finer points of the noble art and Shamela Khan from Shape the Play delivered an energetic and popular chair based exercise class.
Paul Bambrough, Assistant Manager of Thornaby Pavilion said, “Today’s event has been a tremendous success and has really showcased the large number and of services and organisations that the local community can access to help them attain an improved level of physical and mental wellbeing.”
Paul added “We are already working with the Fairer Stockton Team in preparation for next year’s event.”
