On Friday 21st August the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak, along with local MP Matt Vickers, visited the new IB Leisure facility at Ingleby Barwick.
Rishi and Matt where excited to learn more about the £14 million project that aims to play an integral part in supporting everyone in the Ingleby Barwick community to access and enjoy new ways to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. They even took the brand new, state-of-the-art gym equipment for spin!
Rishi saw saw first hand how public leisure facilities following government and UK Active social distancing and operating guidelines can safely operate and was amazed at the quality and value for money that Tees Active offer.
We also took the opportunity to highlight with Rishi and Matt the financial challenges that our sector faces alongside local authorities across the UK.
It was a pleasure hosting Rishi, Matt and their team at IB Leisure. We hope to see them again soon!
