Restart A Heart
Tees Active were delighted to take part in the national Restart a Heart initiative on 15th – 17th October across our venues. Short 15-minute sessions running at peak times across the day invited passers by to take part and learn essential lifesaving CPR skills and practice the fundamentals of resuscitation, chest compressions and defibrillation – we had the Bee Gees Stayin’ Alive stuck in our head all day!
The training sessions were described as extremely useful by participants, and it was fantastic to see both adults and children getting involved. Those taking part had the support of the British Heart Foundation app on hand to guide users through the steps.
Restart a Heart (RSAH) is led by Resuscitation Council UK which aims to increase the number of people surviving out-of-hospital cardiac arrests by equipping as many people as possible with these vital skills.
Darren Humphrey, Area Operations Manager at Tees Active, said: “Tees Active is committed to ensuring our teams are trained to the highest level in First Aid and lifesaving skills, and to extend this commitment to the wider public was a hugely worthwhile initiative, which we hope gives those who took part the confidence to act in an emergency. We are delighted that over 200 people took part across the three days.”
We’d like to thank who attended and hope that they took something away that could help them to make all the difference in an emergency.
