WINTER WONDERLAND FOR SWIMMERS
Borough Of Stockton Swim Scheme’s (BOSSS) winter festival gala took place last weekend at Billingham Forum where over 500 competitors not only competed for medals but had their final opportunity to gain qualifying times for next month’s short course regional championships. 15 rival clubs came from around the surrounding area including clubs from as far as Alnwick and Harrogate creating a fantastic atmosphere in the pool hall.
BOSSS had 50 swimmers representing the Scheme who all performed to their maximum resulting in countless individual medals being won and the club finishing top of the overall medal table.
Alongside the masses of medals, 30 of the schemes swimmers gained regional qualifying times, the highest number gained for the last 6 years, which shows the continued progress of each swimmer.
Head Coach Chris Leighton was extremely pleased with the weekend’s results but also paid tribute to the support that he and the swimmers receive. “This weekend’s results shows the progress the scheme continues to make. We aim to be the best. This wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of Tees Active and the hard work of countless volunteers that made this weekend’s gala such a success for all.”
