Christian Europe Bound
A winter training with World Indoor 60m champion Richard Kilty and international long jumper Chris Tomlinson has seen Gateshead Harrier and Tees Active Sports Academy Sprinter Christian Carson starting the season in impressive style.
Early indications of Christians progress were evident in the winter when he ran a personal best indoors in the 60m in a time of 6.95 seconds and in only his second outdoor run of the season at Eton Christian posted a time of 10.47 seconds although he was wind assisted.
Christian this season has qualified to race on the European circuit this season and his first meet will be in Geneva on June 14th where he will be competing in the 100m and 200m.This will be followed with races in France, Italy, Spain and Holland.
Christian said “ It has always been one of my main goals to compete on the European circuit against international competition. Being able to train alongside the likes of Richard and Chris has really motivated me and they are always willing to help and advise me on my training and race preparation. My ambition is to get faster and improve my personal best in the 100 and 200m this season and who knows in time I may be lining up with Richard on the starting line. To have 2 Teesside sprinters competing on an international stage would be fantastic.”
