Charlotte Crashes into Gold Position
Charlotte Davies showed the results of a hard winter training programme when she won the elite women’s race at the Nottingham City Regatta which was staged at the National Water sports Centre at Holme Pierrepoint.
Charlotte a member of Tees Rowing Club and Tees Active Sports Academy was behind up until the last 250m when she put in fantastic effort to power over the line in first place.
Charlotte almost did not make the start line as whilst warming up in her boat she had a collision with a power boat which meant a shaken and bruised Charlotte had to quickly make some repairs to her boat just to make the start line.
Charlotte is part of British Rowing’s World Class Programme and is coached by Lauren Fisher who is based at Tees Rowing Club said “ It was great to win the race especially as my warm up was far from text book and involved some very quick repairs to my boat. My next target is to put in some strong performances at the Women’s Henley Regatta in June and continue to develop as a rower.”
