Michael Making a Move
Michael Andrews a member of Norton Squash Club and Tees Active Sports Academy is having a busy and successful season. This talented teenager has just returned from winning the Northants Junior Open U17 squash tournament on the Saturday and on the following day he was runner up at the Edgbaston Junior Open.
This is testament to Michael’s hard work this season as in October he won the British Junior Closed U15 Plate competition and at the British Junior Open where he performed well beating players from Norway and Ireland but losing to Mexico’s number 1 player.
Michael is currently ranked Number 13 in the country for U15 boys and is already preparing for next season when he will be competing in the U17 category. Michael a pupil at Red House School said “The win in Northants and the runners up spot at the Edgbaston Junior Open made it a great weekend on court for me. The British Junior Open was a great learning experience, playing against boys from different countries was interesting. I am working hard on court and in the gym as I know I will be playing against bigger and more experienced players next season.”
