SwimFit returns this week at Stockton Splash!
Instructor led sessions will resume this Tuesday the 25th February at 12:15pm, as well as Friday 28th February at the same time. These sessions will last for 30 minutes.
A SwimFit instructor led session is similar to a circuit style session usually practiced in a gym environment, only it’s in the pool! A SwimFit session is more beneficial and gets better results due to the resistance created in the water. Water is 800 times denser than air therefore you are working harder than you would be doing the equivalent exercises on land. Being in a pool environment also gives you the added benefit of incorporating swimming into the circuit. Not only will this help your stroke technique, it will give you a full body workout due to the amount of muscles used to propel you through the water. Check out our videos of SwimFit sessions on the Tees Active Facebook page:
If you don’t fancy an instructor led session, you can now use one of our SwimFit Activate cards. The cards can be found on poolside on the SwimFit board (pictured below).
The cards give you workouts and different routines whilst you are performing your lane swim. They are varying levels of difficulty so swimmers of all abilities are free to use them. You are free to pick up a card and take it to the pool with you. However can you please return the cards to the board when you are finished as they are for all of our customers to use. The cards are permanently available on poolside so you are free to use them whenever you are in.
So come and have a try! SwimFit would be ideal if you are looking to mix up your regular exercise routine or are looking for a greater variety of exercises. Or even if you are looking to get back on track with your New Year’s resolutions! You still have time to sculpt that beach body before summer arrives!
