Top Treatment for International Star


Tees Active Sports Academy sprint star Richard Kilty made a golden start to his international athletics career at the Under 17 Home Nations meet, at Grangemouth in Scotland last weekend.Kilty and physio

Richard blasted his way to victory in the 100m in a winning time of 10 .78 sec. The international match consisted of teams representing England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland bringing together the finest young athletes in the UK.

Richard rounded off his international debut by running the anchor leg for the victorious England 4 x 100m relay team.

Richard who had won the English Schools 100m title the week before had received treatment during the week for some muscular stiffness, at the Teesside Sports Injury Centre at Teesside University.

The Teesside Sports Injury Centre will be opening a satellite centre at Billingham Forum in early August. The centre will treat members of the public as well as top class athletes.Gwen Dalgleish, Sports Therapist said “We are delighted to be working with Tees Active Sports Academy and are excited by our planned new site at Billingham Forum . Members of the public will receive the full range of injury support that is available to the very best athletes”.

Kilty and physioRichard who received treatment on his injured hamstring earlier this year said “The treatment I received and the rehabilitation were second to none. My hamstring was eventually tested on a £ 50k Isokinetic Dynamometer. This type of injury backup is a benefit to anyone who is injured”.
