The Holiday Rhythm

As Zumba fever has swept across Teesside amongst adults, it’s now time for children to experience the Zumba beat as Zumbatomic classes are available for children during the school holidays at Tees Actives centres.
The Zumba craze has created a huge demand for Zumba classes at Splash, Thornaby Pavilion and Billingham Belasis Activ8 gym for adults so Paul Bambrough Young Persons Active Health Manager has decided to include the children’s version Zumbatomic in the Sporting Start holiday programme. The Sporting Start programme which is funded by NHS Stockton on Tees provides free holiday activities for the children of Stockton and is probably the largest free holiday programme in the United Kingdom
The Zumbatomic classes are available at Splash and Thornaby Pavilion and the classes are arranged in various age bands from 4-7 year olds, 8-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds.
Paul Bambrough said “Initial bookings for the Zumbatomic classes have gone really well. Zumbatomic is a fast fusion of moves from salsa. cumbia, reggaeton and hip hop. These high octane workouts are a fun way for children to have fun and keep active at the same time.”
Paul added “We will be looking to incorporate Zumbatomic into our term time children’s activity programme and hopefully will be included at the New Billingham Forum which is due to open in June.”
