The UK School Games is the Largest and most inclusive multi sport event for the nation’s most talented young athletes of school age in a total of 12 sports. The games will feature around 2000 competitors, volunteers and officials. The Olympic Park will provide the showcase on the 9th May hosting the athletics, swimming and track cycling. With a total of 35,000 people on the park on the day the atmosphere promises to be electric.
A delighted Rachel said” I celebrated my 16th birthday this week so my selection was a fantastic birthday gift. The thought of running in the Olympic Stadium in the same event which Usain Bolt will be competing in just a few months later is really exciting.
The Thornaby youngster added “This season hopefully will go well and with events like this to look forward to, it is an even bigger motivation to push myself to the limit in training.”
