What makes the girls performance even more impressive is the fact that they have been only rowing for a year after being spotted as part of British Rowings talent identification programme.

The girls coach Nathan Adams who is British Rowings north east talent development coach based at the Tees Rowing Club said” The girls results last weekend were an outstanding as they were only introduced to rowing 12 months ago and is reward for all the hard work they have put in.Jo has just returned from a Great Britain Potential camp where she also performed extremely well

”There is no rest for the girls as they are back to their rigorous 12 hours per week training regime which is a mixture of water work onthe River Tees and land based work in the gym"
