Sporting Re-Start

Adults in Stockton will have the opportunity to learn how to swim, learn the basics of trampolining and the steps of ballroom dancing as funding from NHS Stockton has enabled Tees Active to organise several courses so adults can kick start a healthy lifestyle by enrolling on free taster courses at several sites across Stockton.

The 10 week adult learn to swim course which starts in September will be held at the fantastic new pool at Billingham Forum and will allow non and nervous swimmers to improve their confidence and skills in a friendly atmosphere.

If you want to put a little bounce into your lifestyle Cheryl Bythway will be introducing the seat, front and back drop to anyone who wants to discover the fun of trampolining which will be available at Thornaby Pavilion.

If that does not wet your appetite for physical activity why not learn a few moves from the world of ballroom and Latin as Danyelle Clarke fresh from representing England at the professional Latin World Championships in Blackpool will be helping you put your best foot forward.

Cheryl Bythway, Young Persons Active Health Coordinator said “ We are in the process of putting together an exciting Sporting Re-Start programme which is aimed at encouraging adults to either start or get back into physical activity.I am sure the swimming, trampolining and ballroom will be tremendously popular but our main aim is enjoyment and fun, so participants will continue with their chosen activity once the course has finished.”
