Splash Phase One Development
I would like to make you aware of a number of changes that will be happening over the next few weeks, you may or may not be aware that Phase I of the extension is due for completion during this time. In turn this will bring about a number of temporary changes to the programme and building operations. I would like you to bear with us during this time and the following 10 weeks (Phase II), as there will be some disruption to the service we provide. We will endeavour to ensure that this will be kept to a minimum, but do ask you to bear with us during this exciting and worthwhile development.
• The NEW Activ8 Fitness Suite is now open.
• The Wet side locker key return unit will be relocated on Monday 7th September; it will be situated directly opposite the public phone. There will be no lockers during this work; your belongings we will supervise for you.
• Main Entrance – Our main entrance will be moving to a temporary entrance at the back of the building. This temporary entrance will be moving on Monday 21st September for a period of approximately 10 weeks, so from the afternoon of the 21st September you will no longer be able to gain access to the front of Splash. There will be directional signage and leaflets showing you where to go. Access to the new entrance will be through the car park to the rear of the building.
• The Café will close; unfortunately there will be no provision for catering or vending during Phase II of the development.
• Viewing Areas will be out of action from Monday 21st September until Phase II is completed later this year. The café area and the first floor viewing balcony will be part of the building site and therefore access will not be available. We will try and ensure there is more seating on the poolside, however you MUST wear blue overshoes (which are located near the showers) to access this viewing area.
• Queuing during busy times. Once the temporary reception has been opened (Monday 21st September) Activ8 Health & Fitness members will be asked to pay and register their visit at the purpose built Activ8 Studio reception. Anyone using the pool hall will be required to queue as normal along the new entrance hallway. Due to Fire Regulation restrictions it may be necessary to queue outside during this time, there will be a barrier system in place. We will be looking into getting this area covered, however you may wish to provide your own umbrella if the weather is bad.
• THE POOL will remain open during this period. The normal programme will remain.
Thank you for your continued support in making Splash the success it is, we will endeavour to keep you informed as much as possible regarding any disruption to the service or facilities.
Leaflets are now available with details about the NEW dry activities, you can pick up a leaflet from Splash or view it electronically if you click here.
Please see a member of the reception team if you have any queries.
Kind regards Emma Ibbertson (Manager) & her team at Splash.
