Oarsome Performance

Beth Bryan, Jo Wratten, Beth Henderson, and Anna Fairs who are all members of the World Class Start Programme and Tees Active Sports Academy definitely made an impression in the junior women’s events.
!7 year old Beth Bryan had the pick of the performances bringing home gold in the Women’s Junior Single Scull with silver medallist Clio Aubugeau-Williams crossing the finish line over 17 seconds behind Beth.
Beth then teamed up with Jo Wratten and picked up silver in the Women’s junior double scull.
Anna Fairs and Beth Henderson joined forces with Charlotte Drury and Alicia Brown to pick up silver in the women’s junior quad scull.
Not to let the men down Ed Mace from Tees RC put in a great performance to win silver in the open lightweight single sculls.
A delighted Beth said “It has been a great championship for the Tees Rowing Club and personally to come home with a gold and silver medal was extremely satisfying. All the girls have to attend a World Class Start camp in mid August and then we will have a couple of weeks off before we get back to training again.”
The rowers who train twice a day on the Tees will certainly be looking to continue their development and make the 2011 season one to remember.
