No Strings Hopes to be a Smash Hit
Thornaby Pavilion Leisure Centre has a growing reputation as a centre for badminton excellence as the home of Badminton England’s Regional Performance Squad it has just installed a Taraflex floor after entering into a partnership with Badminton England.

Part of the partnership work with Badminton England involves developing the No Strings initiative which is designed to be a fun, friendly pay and play badminton session which offers the opportunity for participants to fit badminton into a busy schedule whether you are a beginner or a novice. The No Strings sessions will offer participants the chance of playing badminton whilst meeting like minded people.

To celebrate the launch of No Strings at the Pavilion a free open launch event has been organised for Saturday 8th October. Thornaby Pavilion will be offering the opportunity for families to play for free between 9.00-12.00pm and a co-ordinator will be in attendance to advise and organise all participants. There will also be a smash gun which will record the top speed of participants smash attempts.
All participants will be issued a game card which will record attendance and will enable you to be entered into a prize draw and t-shirt promotion.
David Seller, Thornaby Pavilion Manager said “Thornaby Pavilion in partnership with Badminton England has become a centre for the development of badminton at grass root & elite level over the past few years.
The addition of this fantastic new floor and the coaching expertise available to us makes the Pavilion an attractive environment in which to play badminton
The no strings initiative is an ideal opportunity for adults wishing to be introduced to the game”.
