Moss Skates to Double International Honours
Thirteen year old Northfield school pupil James Moss has had an international call up not for one sport but two!!!
James who is a member of Billingham Bombers Ice Hockey Club has been selected for England Under 14 Ice Hockey Team and he has recently been selected for Great Britain’s Junior Olympic Roller Hockey Squad. James who plays roller hockey for Hull Hurricanes will be jetting out this summer to play in an international tournament in Detroit (U.S.A)
James has been playing roller hockey for seven years. But three years ago James decided to try out ice hockey at the Billingham Forums Stick and Glove sessions. James skating and stick handling skills made him a natural culminating in him being selected for the Under 14 England ice hockey team who played in Canada over the Christmas period and he will be travelling to Prague in March to take part in another prestigious tournament
James proud mother Sue says " Juggling James schedule of training and games between ice hockey and roller hockey takes some planning but we are really pleased with his progress in both sports"
For those interested in taking up ice hockey the Forum host a Stick and Glove training session on Sundays at 4.30pm with kit available for hire. For more information phone Billingham Forum on (01642) 551381 or visit Tees Actives website on www.teesactive .co.uk
