Reporter Katie Gornall and cameraman used the services of Castlegate Quay Watersports facilities as they got a close up of Anna rowing on the Tees whilst being piloted by Chris Walker in Castlegate own motor launch.

Anna, her coach James Harris and mother were interviewed by Katie as she revealed the dedication needed to become a competitive rower. Anna’s daily schedule means getting out of bed at 5.30am to be on the river by 6.30am she then makes a quick change and goes to school she is back on the river by 4pm for another 2 hours training, Anna’s only day off from training is Sundays when she gets a well deserved lie in.

Anna said “It was quite a nerve racking experience being interviewed, but it was interesting seeing how much filming was needed for the 2 minute feature on Look North. I must admit it is the first time I have been interviewed whilst rowing on the Tees. My school mates and teachers all saw the footage and they have definitely been pulling my leg in lessons.”
