Killer Season for Tom

Tom Kill
Teenage Rugby star Tom Kill is looking forward to a well-earned break after an incredibly successful and strenuous season. 14-year-old Tom a member of Billingham Rugby Club and Tees Active Sports Academy has just returned home after competing for Durham Under 15s in the Sun Alliance National Tens competition staged over 2 days at the birth place of Rugby Union Football, Rugby School.

The National Tens competition involved the cream of the country’s talented county rugby players with over 1148 players and sixty teams competing in a 10 a side competition under the watchful eyes of people like rugby legend Jason Leonard.

This was the finish of a highly successful season for the 6’ 1 teenager as his club side Billingham won the league, the district cup and county cup.

Tom will be able to compete for the under 15 county side next year as he is playing one year above his current age group. This talented teenager who is also a member of Newcastle Falcons Development Scheme will be receiving his end of season assessment with the Falcons this week as Tom dreams of becoming a Premiership player like his idol Leicester and England star Lewis Moody.

Tom’s dad Nick said “This is an important period for Tom and the experience of playing against an older age group this year will stand him in good stead for next season. He will be working hard throughout the summer on his conditioning and building his core strength.”

Tom will be also jumping into athletics training this summer as he is also a gifted sprinter and high jumper.
