Jemma Sets New British Record


Borough of Stockton Swimming Scheme and Tees Active Sports Academy star Jemma Lowe set a new British short course record in the 200m Butterfly at the weekend..Jemma was competing at the Middlesbrough Opens Gala held at the Neptune.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Jemma who led from start to finish in a superb performance, totally dominated the race and finished in the record breaking time of 2.06.57 breaking the record of team mate Jessica Dickons who recorded a time of 2.07.36 whilst collecting a bronze medal at the European Championships in December

Graeme Antwhistle, Head Coach for the Borough of Stockton Swim Scheme said “Jemma performance is reward for the hard work she has been putting in over the past few month and this will be a massive boost for her confidence as she looks to lower her long course time”

There is no rest for the Hartlepool teenager as she jets out to Michigan with the Welsh swimming squad to compete in the USA Grand Prix.
