FREE FEBRUARY FUN!!!!!!!

This February’s programme which is free to Stockton’s school children has over 1000 places available covering 18 different sports and physical activities which vary from indoor bowls to boxercise.
The Sporting Start programme is part of the Stockton’s Teaching PCT childhood obesity prevention strategy and links in with the governments Change4Life campaign that is promoting a more healthy and active lifestyle.

New for February will be indoor bowls coaching at Thornaby Pavilion and 12-15 year olds will be able to book a free induction to the Activ8 gyms at either Billingham Form ,Splash or Thornaby Pavilion .But one of the high lights of the week will be an interactive cooking session with master chef finalist Dave Hall. Dave’s demonstration is ideal for adults and children and he will be preparing some tasty and healthy dishes that will appeal to all tastes.

This is fantastic news for the children of Stockton and during the period April 2009 to March 2010 there will over 8000 free places available from activities that will vary from learn to swim to Kayaking. The Sporting Start programme is one of the largest and most diverse holiday programmes in the country therefore there is no excuse for the children of Stockton to be inactive during the holiday periods”
