Children in Need Splash-tastic

A Splash-tastic time was had by all as Tees Active staff Daniel Frenchled the way in fitness activities to raise money for this year’s Children in Need charity appeal. Customers and visitors to Splash in Stockton-on-Tees donated £212.19, many pledging £1 to guess the number of miles that would be covered during the grueling 8.5-hour biathlon.

24 members of staff took part in the swim and cycle biathlon which took place on Friday 17th November, the official day of appeal, a night that nationally raised £18,300,392 for the Children in Need cause. The total combined mileage covered by staff on the exercise bike and in the swimming pool amounted to a staggering 158.28 miles and one lucky customer guessed that 165 miles would be covered and bagged themselves a one month unlimited swimming pass that can be used at any Active Life Centre swimming pool – Splash, Billingham Forum and Thornaby Pool.

Janet Boulton, event organiser said “Over the past 3 years our Children in Need fundraising events have just got better and better, the success is down to the dedication and effort of the Tees Active staff who offer their valuable time to the cause.”
