BOSSS Makes a Splash
The Borough of Stockton Swimming Scheme are celebrating a successful and busy time as they have just discovered they have been short listed for the Evening Gazette Junior Team of the Year and club member Jemma Lowe has been short listed for the senior Evening Gazette Sports Personality of the Year Award. A delegation of swimmers, coach and committee member will attend the glittering event at the Thistle Hotel on Monday to represent the club.

This has come after the club which was formed in 1998 prepares to celebrate their 10th anniversary next year. Their 10th anniversary celebration will commence on the 19th January as they hold a swimming awards evening at the Forum Theatre.
The event will be attended by the incoming National ASA President Alan Donlan and the club will be presented with the prestigious SWIM21 ‘Performance Club’ Award. This award recognises that BOSSS has a structure that supports and consistently produces athletes who achieve top 16 positions in individual events at Senior British Swimming Championships,
Gordon Bruce, Publicity Officer for BOSSS said “It’s hard to believe how far the Borough of Stockton Scheme has come in less than 10 years since it was formed, with success at regional, national and international level."
"It’s been achieved through a great deal of hard work and dedication by the swimmers, the coaching staff and the parents on various committees that run the club. Hopefully what BOSSS has achieved can be an inspiration to other kids involved in sport in this region as well as the people and organisations that support them.”
With a squad of swimmers that are breaking senior British records and competing at international level in major championships who knows what this club will achieve in the next decade.
BOSSS are currently looking for sponsors for their annual swimming awards. If you are interested in sponsoring a category please contact Michelle Allison on 07792807088.
