Charlotte Watson from Wolviston definitely had her three wishes granted, the 13 year old has recently qualified for the British Novice Figure Skating Championships to be held in January 2009, she has gained admission to Tees Active Sports Academy and she has won the lead role in this years Ice panto Aladdin.

Charlotte a pupil of Red House School has been skating since she was four years of age qualified for the nationals by reaching the qualifying standard at a recent IJS competition in Sheffield. Charlotte who performed her short programme to the music from Carmen and her long programme to the theme from Doctor Who received 57 points for her performances.

This talented teenager is coached by resident Ice skating professional at Billingham Forum Christine Eskilsden but she has also been receiving coaching from Dave Hartley at Sheffield and world renowned Belgium coach Vera Vandercaveye who coached Belgium skater Kevin van der Perren winner of a bronze medal at the 2007 European Championships.

A jubilant Charlotte said “Qualifying for the British was one of my main goals this season. Gaining entry to the Academy will allow me free use of the rink and I will be able to use all the support services on offer. This includes me being filmed which allows me and my coach to analyse my skating routines.”

This skating star also rehearsing hard with the rest of the cast as she takes the lead in Billingham Ice Skating Clubs production of Aladdin which opens on Sunday 14th December and runs till Thursday 18th December.
