Where can I bowl?

Indoor Bowls can be played at Thornaby Pavilion.

The indoor playing season runs from September to April where the club enjoys a full and comprehensive programme of fixtures for men, ladies and youths. These are friendly matches, leagues, local tournaments, and inter club competitions. During the quieter months of May through to the beginning of September the green is available for members who do not wish to bowl outdoors. Roll up sessions are available while the bar is open.

Thornaby Indoor Bowls Club

Thornaby Indoor Bowling Club is situated inside the Pavilion Leisure Centre at Thornaby Town Centre, Stockton-on-Tees.

The Club was founded in 1968 under the name Teesside Indoor Bowls Club and was the first purpose built eight-rink stadium in the country. It was later changed to Thornaby Indoor Bowls Club when it was taken over by new Management.

Tees Active began managing the club in 2008 with the aim of encouraging more people to play, both at a recreational and competitive level.

The club has recently been re-developed into a six-rink arena but still offers some of the best facilities in England. The social section also remains strong with excellent bar and lounge facilities.

Thornaby Indoor Bowls Club caters for members who wish to bowl both competitvely and recreationally.

The club offers some of the best facilities in England especially the re-developed six rink arena. The licensed bar also sells snacks and tea/coffee making facilities are also available.  Secure lockers can be rented to store equipment  and toilets are available inside the club. Friendly staff are always on hand to help with any query during the clubs open hours and seating is available for spectators to watch the games.
