About Us
Since opening in the year 2000, Castlegate Quay has offered a wide range of water-based activities on the River Tees in Stockton. The centre provides quality tuition and activities in Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Bellboating, Powerboating, Raft Building and Team Building, all with fully qualified instructors. All of our activities are accessible to anyone over the age of 8 years old. Every year the national governing bodies for paddlesports (the British Canoe Union) and sailing (the Royal Yachting Association) inspect the centre. Holding these licences shows that the centre adheres to the standards set out by the NGB’s to ensure our activities are done safely and with quality tuition. As well as the yearly NGB inspections, the HSE also inspect the centre and award their Adventurous Activities Licence recognising all of the activities that we run.
